Lost Dreams

Lost Dreams

I had a dream that I was in Berlin
A band called the Luminairies was playing
I was in them
I went to their concert
And the drummer wasn‘t there
I had to play the drums
And there wasn‘t a snare
Then I was in the audience
And the gig was done
I hadn‘t listened to the band
But I told them they were brilliant
And then I felt somebody kiss my neck
I opened up my eyes to check
Am I still in the Land of Nod
Or landed in reality

I remembered all the details
When I woke up
By the time the day was over
It had gone the way of every other
Lost dream

And I lost that dream
To all the Saturdays in between
And I lost that dream
To the one night stands in between

Lost dreams
Lost dreams
Lost dreams
Lost dreams

I had a dream that I was with my nan
She was talking to me in a language
That I didn’t understand
She took my hand
I helped her up the stairs
The key was in the lock
The janitor was making repairs

And I remembered how I felt
When I was younger
When my vision of a future love
Was Innocent, simple and eternal

And I lost that dream
To all the Saturday nights in between
And I lost that dream
To the one night stands in between

Lost dreams
Lost dreams
Lost dreams
Lost dreams

Lost dreams
Lost dreams
Lost dreams
Lost dreams
